Background
Did you know that, starting July 1, 2024, companies in the Netherlands with 100 or more employees are required to report on work-related personal mobility?
What does the reporting involve?
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management wants insight into the COâ‚‚ emissions from business travel in order to explore opportunities for sustainability. The mandatory WPM (Work-Related Personal Mobility) report requires data broken down by type of transport and fuel:
- The total number of business kilometers traveled by employees;
- The total number of commuting kilometers;
- The total number of private kilometers driven with a company car;
- Whether you have lease contracts, a company fleet, or a combination of both;
- Which travel expense claims have been submitted;
- What your commuting patterns look like;
- Which mobility services you use.
You can read how to download the report here.
Enabling the Functionality
Within the admin environment, under the menu item “Expense Configuration” and the tab “Transport” in “General Expense Configuration Options,” you will find the option “Data Collection for Work-Related Personal Mobility.”
When this option is enabled, the mileage reimbursement and receipt claim forms will include additional fields to ensure your organization collects all the necessary data for WPM reporting.
This page shows how this appears when submitting an expense claim.
